How to start an escrow transaction?

The buyer or seller of domain(s) can start an escrow transaction. You must provide the other party's email address so when the originator submits the transaction an email is sent to the other party requesting approval. Many payment plans are available for the buyer including 3,6,9 and 12 month plans. Custom payment plans are available for an additional fee, please add your plan details in the comments section of the transaction.

How to approve an escrow transaction?

The other party in the transaction will receive an approval email. Please review the details of the agreement and click on the approval link to view the agreement. After further review click the agree button to complete the approval process. By approving the transaction, the following happens

  • Agreement emails are sent to both the buyer and seller.
  • An invoice is created for the buyer.
  • Domain transfer approval email(s) are sent to the admin contact on file with the whois for all domains in the transaction.

How to print and sign agreements?

The agreement email will have a link to click and print the agreement. Please print the agreement or copy to a document program. Execute/sign the Buyer/Seller portion on the last page and either email or fax (954-969-9155) your agreement to our escrow department. Be sure to put the word ESCROW and your Moniker account number to Fax cover sheet. Once the agreement has been received by our escrow department an email confirmation will be sent.

How do domain(s) transfer into our escrow account?

The following actions must take place for a successful domain transfer into Moniker escrow

The following steps are done in your domain manager with your current domain registrar.

  • Remove privacy from domain (applicable if you have privacy on your domain name).
  • Unlock domain name.
  • Retrieve transfer auth code (usually sent via email to tech contact).

The seller receives domain authorization emails for all domains involved in the transaction. Once you have the transfer auth code from your current registrar please click the link in this email to approve the transfer into our escrow account. Transfer can take between 5-10 days to arrive into our escrow account unless the domains are already at Moniker.

How does a buyers make payment?

The agreement has payment instructions for the buyer. Payment can be made using Moniker pre-paid fund, Wire transfer, PayPal, and check. If paying by PayPal or pre-paid funds, payment can be made from within the transaction. If paying by Wire or Check, once the funds arrive at moniker you will receive an email confirmation.

How does a transaction reach completion?

The following must exist for a transaction to be complete.

  • Seller and buyer agreements are in our escrow department.
  • All domains are in our escrow account.
  • All buyer payments have been received.

The following will happen once the transaction is complete .

  • Seller and buyer will receive a transaction complete email.
  • The seller will receive an email with instructions to request payment.
  • Domain(s) are moved from our escrow account into the buyers account.
  • An accounts payable transaction is recorded within the sellers account minus any seller fees.

How does a Seller get paid?

Sellers should setup how they wish payment to be made prior to requesting any payments. The seller will request payment by clicking on a link in the payment confirmation email when the transaction is complete. Moniker maintains payment transaction requests and history located under the My Account menu.
